Accessorizing with jewelry is one of the easiest ways to create more outfits and make use of old items in the wardrobe that you don’t really wear anymore. It’s also a great way to personalize outfits and inject a bit of your own style in there. Just like anything else in fashion, the trends in jewelry are always developing and changing and if you want to stay relevant, you need to keep on top of them. With that in mind, these are some of the most popular jewelry trends right now and how you can match them with your outfits properly.

Vintage

Vintage fashion, in general, is big right now and jewelry is no exception. But wearing vintage jewelry right is tricky and you might struggle to match it to outfits properly if you don’t know what you’re doing. The first thing to remember is that it's better to buy good quality, authentic vintage pieces rather than the modern imitation ones. There are some great companies that specialize in authentic vintage jewelry, check out this Yafa Signed Jewels - Buccellati collection for example.

It’s worth spending some time finding genuine vintage jewelry because the quality is better, you’ll get better results and it will last for many years or even forever. When you’re trying to pair it with an outfit, you need to be cautious because vintage jewelry tends to be very bold. Choose one statement piece and match it with a plain outfit so things don’t become too cluttered.

Plastic

Plastic jewelry probably sounds like it would look tacky and cheap but it’s actually really big at the moment. Large earrings and chunky necklaces are very popular, particularly ones that are made with a clear plastic. They work really well with a bold coloured outfit if you want to wear some big jewelry but you don’t want to draw too much attention away from the rest of the outfit. Coloured plastic jewelry works well with an 80’s vintage fashion style.

Animal Pieces

Animal print is a fashion trend that comes and goes quite a lot, but what about animal jewelry? It’s a big trend at the moment to wear things like butterflies or buffalo heads on necklaces and earrings. They match really well with any outfit that has a bit of a boho style but they tend to be quite big and bold so you need to be selective about when you use them. As a general rule, animal pieces should be reserved for more casual outfits and you should avoid them if you’re wearing something a bit more formal.

Layering Necklaces

Big chunky necklaces can look great but they’re starting to fall out of fashion at the minute. Instead, a lot of people are going for layered necklaces. If you take a few thinner necklaces that work well together you can layer them up and create a more dynamic look. You’ve got to think hard about the necklaces that you’re pairing and make sure you’re not matching up materials that clash.

These are some of the biggest trends in jewelry that you need to know right now. Experiment with some different combinations and see what outfits you can create. I hope you liked today's post! Let me know what you think about these jewelry trends in the comments section!
