The Toolbox: Getting The Strength To Deal With Crippling Anxieties

The Toolbox: Getting The Strength To Deal With Crippling Anxieties / Blog Simplicity in Vogue / @ByAndreaB - mental health, depression, anxiety, health, wellness, wellbeing, lifestyle blogger, how to deal with

For anyone out there struggling with their self-confidence, anxiety appears to be the norm. As frustrating as it can be to struggle with your own internal conflicts, anxiety can prove to be the undoing of us if we let it. But, let's get this right, anxiety, no matter how crippling it is, is a frame of mind that can be overcome. It never feels like it at the time, but it's all about the right tools.

Identifying The Cause

As is the process of self-analysis, identifying the root cause of your anxieties, no matter how difficult the process is, will help you to deal with the problem easier than before. Sometimes we have conflicts in life, that, while we have got over physically, can prove to be so deeply ingrained in our psyche, that it impacts us for years afterwards.

An injury or an accident are things that are always seismic in their abilities to cause anxiety, and looking for help after an injury is one of the ways to get some form of closure. The fact is, if we dwell on these sorts of issues, they will take over our whole life. Identify the problem, and you can begin to take steps in the right direction.

Working Through It Symptomatically

Sometimes we can identify the cause, but the symptoms can still prevail. This is where a combination of therapies will work well to help through the daily anxieties you feel. It's a long journey, but when you suffer from symptoms of anxiety on a daily basis, finding therapies to overcome these are thoroughly worth your time. There is a multitude of tools you can use, from deep breathing, mindfulness, and medication.

But when we suffer from extreme anxiety, the fact is that our attention is pulled so many different directions. When we have an anxious disposition, this means we struggle to sleep, have problems keeping still, and it's about learning the right tools to ensure you have focus and direction. I already wrote about some of the best ways to deal with anxiety in this post.

Implementing These Tools Into Your Life

When we discover the right tools for us, it's at this point we can begin to integrate these tools into our daily lives. The big mistake a lot of us make when it comes to anxiety is that we can overcome it in a matter of days or weeks when the recovery really is as long as a piece of string. The trick is to implement these into our daily lives, and begin to tackle the symptoms and thoughts that we know, deep down, are not who we really are. And this is where we can begin to take those positive steps.

Because anxiety is something that tears us away from our loved ones and everything we know, getting back to what is good for us in a mental sense can seem like a strange thing. But when we are making changes in our lives, anything that's new can seem strange and worrying, even if it is thinking normally or with confidence. Anxiety is something that can overwhelm us, but it doesn't need to be like this.

I hope these tips will help you get the strength to deal with any anxiety you may have. I would love to hear from you in the comments!

See you soon! :)

xx,
Andrea
