Minimalist chic outfit for a sunny day out

summer, ootd, beach, coconut, palm, modest fashion, muslim fashion, effortless chic

Here in Brazil, we are still in summer and  Autumn is just around the corner but it doesn't change much, at least in my city Recife it's hot and sunny throughout the entire year. I do miss winter, it's so much more fun to dress up in a colder weather with all those layerings. Not to mention, it's so much easier to wear lots of clothes to protect from the cold, whereas in a hot weather even if I go out naked I would still feel hot. Besides, a little walk outside home under this sun is enough to drain all my energy and melt my body. I'm not kidding. However, a good point of this sunny weather is it's sunny and blue, and we have lots of vitamin D haha. I mean everyone feels happier when the sky is blue, even the beach looks more beautiful.

This is the first outfit I'm sharing here and it wasn't planned. I went out to have lunch with my parents. We would go to the restaurant and then go back home. But when I saw the beach, the sky and water were so blue, it would be a shame to not stop a few minutes there for some contemplation moment. This is just to justify my outfit choice. I wouldn't be wearing a bikini, as I'm muslim, but I wouldn't be wearing this tight shirt that is under the loose shirt dress either. I'd have chosen a shirt with loose sleeves.

People usually ask me: don't you feel hot wearing all those clothes here? But the truth is that if you wear something loose made of cotton, viscose or silk, it won't make you feel hotter than someone who covers less than you. For the contrary. it will protect you from the sun and won't burn your skin. For this outfit, the only thing I would change would be the sleeves, and maybe the jeans too, for something less tight. But as I only spent some minutes there it wasn't really bad. My sandals were comfortable and I love the minimalist design of them. They are my go-to sandals and looks nice with almost all my clothes. And my scarf, I don't always wear it like this but when it's too hot, it's nice to have less fabric around my neck.

Who noticed my scarf matching the sea and water while my jeans are matching the sand? :P
